Residential IP
An address inside a consumer ISP block — the kind of line a real household uses.
A residential IP is an address allocated to a consumer ISP (Comcast, Deutsche Telekom, China Telecom and their peers) rather than to a hosting provider. The label describes who normally uses the line, not how the address behaves.
Platforms treat residential ranges as the expected source of ordinary sellers. That is why “residential proxy” pools exist: they rent access to these addresses to route traffic that would otherwise look like it came from a datacenter.
Being residential is not a guarantee. A residential address can still be on a proxy, on a Tor exit list, or be part of a range that was resold. Check the individual address, not just the network type.
