Dual ISP

A block announced by one network with upstream transit from another — a routing detail.

“Dual ISP” describes a routing arrangement: a prefix is announced by one operator while its upstream transit goes through another. Sellers use the phrase to imply the address is closer to a household.

It is a routing property, not a usage property. If the announcing ASN is a hosting company, the address is a hosting address no matter how many upstream providers appear in the path.

Verify the announcing ASN, the prefix registrant in RDAP, and the reverse DNS pattern. Traceroute output showing two providers proves the route exists, nothing more.
