Browser extension privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-28 · Applies to the IPASK extension for Chrome, Edge and Chromium browsers

The extension is a thin client for ipask.net. It shows the verdict for the IP you are currently browsing with and compares a few environment values. This policy explains exactly what leaves your browser.

What the extension sends

DataPurposeWhere it goes
Your public IP addressLook up the verdictipask.net API (HTTPS)
The API request itself (timestamp, IP)Rate limiting and abuse preventionServer logs on ipask.net

What the extension does NOT do

Environment values shown in the popup

The popup compares your browser time zone and languages with the IP's time zone and country, and probes WebRTC for local candidate addresses. These values are read inside the popup and are not transmitted — they are only used to render the checklist you see.

The extension is a developer/operations tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes and the new version ships with the next extension release.
